I have never thought much about how gender affects life
nowadays, but recently I have realised how much it does. In nowadays society,
there are plenty of situations where gender is looked at. Also, some ways that
people express their feelings towards gender is making sexist jokes. I believe
that criticising someone because of their gender is wrong. Although there are only two genders, so why
make fun of someone, it’s just pointless. Gender plays a big part in building
someone as a human being, weather it is noticed or not. If we all were the same
gender, there would be no sexist situations. For me, personally, I have been
raised to be a good role model for other younger females and to set a good
example. I wish to successfully fulfil this opportunity.

What is spirituality?
To me, spirituality is something that some people might not think
about every day and to be honest, I am one of those people. But, sometimes I do
think about what I believe in. The definition for spirituality is ‘property or
income owned by a church’, but the meaning of catholic spirituality is ‘the
spiritual act of living out a personal act of faith’. Catholic spirituality is
the type of spirituality this blog post is on. When I think of catholic spirituality,
I think it’s the transformation of the present life to the afterlife. Others
might get a different picture in their head, but that is what I get. No one has
the exact same idea in their mind.

Does gender matter in the job industry?
In my personal opinion, I strongly believe that gender does
not matter in the work force. Many people think that there are ‘women’s jobs’
and ‘men’s jobs and that’s their opinion. A teacher, a nurse, a fashion
designer, an office worker are all occupations that are thought of as ‘women’s
jobs’ and a construction worker, a truck driver, an architecture, a plumber are
all thought of to be ‘men’s jobs’. I
think that any gender can do any job and there is proof of that, there are male
nurses in hospitals, there are women truck drivers, there are male teachers,
there are female architects, there are male fashion designers and the list goes
on. Any person, doesn't matter the
gender, can successfully complete any job.
What role do women play?
To many people, being female is ‘bad’ because society’s view
of being female is messed up and not accurate. The way society sees females is
something like this, they belong in the kitchen, cleaning the house and looking
after the kids, which is incredibly sexist and unfair. The female body is
amazing and the fact that one female can carry a baby for nine months in their
stomach is pretty incredible. But, women these days aren't all stay at home
mum’s that do these things. Most women have jobs and are doing things to go
places in life and thanks to society, not many people think about this.
What role do men play?
In nowadays society, the male is looked at as the dominant
gender. The occupations that are more popular within the male gender are
builders, waste services, plumbers, mining industry, prison guards, roads and
infrastructure workers and furniture removalists. These jobs are
stereotypically done by males because society thinks that females wouldn't be
able to complete them as well as men can. Maybe because the females just go
with the stereotypes and don’t think for themselves. These days, the
male/father figure is the main provider for the family. They usually work all
day and just relax when they get home and by working all day, they make money
for the family.
